A quick overview of Windows 10 KB5020030 Preview cumulative update
The update is available for Windows 10 Builds 19042.2311, 19043.2311, 19044.2311, and 19045.2311. This is an optional update and it doesn’t include any security updates, but it allows administrators to test the upcoming bug fixes that are coming in December. Regarding the bug fixes, here are the most prominent ones:
Search box – The search box will now appear on the Taskbar when you position it on the top of the screen or if you use small Taskbar buttons. Microsoft Store updates – Issues with constant update failures in Microsoft Store have been fixed. Printing issues – Problems with certain printers have been resolved. This includes misaligned print outputs. Daylight saving time – Issues that affect daylight savings time for the Republic of Fiji have been fixed. Quick Assist – Quick Assist is now available for your client’s device. Improved app installation – Issues with app installation on devices managed by the enterprise have been fixed. CNO fixes – Issues with cluster name objects are addressed in this update. Microsoft Direct3D 9 – The problem with D3D9 and Remote Desktop is fixed. No longer will D3D9 crash during Remote Desktop sessions. WLDP – Fixed the issue with applications that run on Windows Lock Down Policy. Windows Defender for Endpoint – Fixed issues that blocked live response investigations.
